Отдых в коттедже в Финляндии Holiday in Finland

Summer in Finland!

Come Out!
There are a number of restaurants on the open air whiсh suit every taste. Go to the museum under the open sky or to the concert in the park. Go boating. In a market square you can find many sweet things: strawberries, raspberries, young peas! Try the last ones-they are just delicious!
Out of town to nature
In the town there is a lot of entertainment, but in the open air there is more. Rent a small cottage on the shore of the lake, hire a boat or canoe. Walk along the lake, examine it. Warm yourself in sauna, and after you have been in it enough, jump into water from mooring. Then you can have a rest on the veranda watching the sun which doesn’t even think to set.
Take a walk on a ship on the lake Paijanne or Saimaa, or go on a little cruise to the archipelago Turka. Rent a boat and go to sea past the islands and admire them from the deck of a luxurious cruise ship. Go on a walking tour or ride a bike or a horse on prepared paths. Watch wild nature. Many people come to Finland on purpose to watch birds: here there are many owls, and in summer many waterfowls. Those who like well-equipped places for a fire and houses can use specially made areas in a national park or municipal zones for having a rest. You can also choose the simple ways: go on excursions where you will be told about Finnish forests.
You should visit national Finnish parks. They are specially created for walking tourism. You can buy detailed maps and use guides who will show you incredibly beautiful places. The number of waterways in Finland is really unique. It can take you weeks to travel on wide flows of crossing rivers, lakes, channels. And it won’t be necessary to come out on the shore! You can choose a 2-hour walk on canoe or kayak, and for those who want more, a trip for some days and even weeks will be organized. There are many various routes for going by canoe or kayaks, many of which are boarded by buoys. Unique Finnish routes are created for tourists who would like to investigate the beauty of countryside areas with their own eyes. Lodging and breakfast on the farms, local cuisine, excursions in nice corners of the nature and different events on the open air. While doing this you will be able to buy local delicacies and handmade works.
Your route can begin from the town Nurmes, situated on the northern shore of the lake Pielinen. From there you can swim along ports Lieksa and Joensuu to the island Savonlinna. And if you come to Finland in July, then in the evening you can listen to the opera in a wonderful fortress Olavinlinna. One of the most used ports for lake ships is Kuopio, from which ships make cruises on the eastern lakes and channels. The way from Kuopio in Savonlinna is the longest one, where the tours on passenger ships are organized and which offer tourists accommodation in cabins for travelling on inner waters. Old-fashioned ships sail on narrow channels, coming to the oldest locks of Finland. Be inspired with the history of Finnish navigation. From western towns Lahti and Heinola ships come to the lakes Paijanne and Jyvaskyla.  From Tampera tourists can go on a trip to the north to Ruovesi on a hundred-year old ship on the route which is called “Poet’s way”. You will see places which played a big part in Finnish literature. You are usually served soft drinks and snacks on cruise ships; on some of them you will be served full meals.
Finland is an ideal place for riding bikes. Flat roads with slight slopes are far from the main routes, that’s why driving here is not intensive. While riding a bike you can admire wonderful scenery –lakes, forests, cosy farms and little villages.
In Finland there are more than 100 golf fields-of course not so many as in England or the USA, but there are also fewer people. That’s why there will be few players than in any other country where golf is a main sport. Due to the long sunny day golf players can play as long as they want. Every summer dozens of night and marathon competitions are held. Night tournaments last for the whole night under midnight sun.  During this tournament three or four golf games are played for one day. In Finland golf season lasts from May to September and sometimes even longer. You can play golf even in winter.

Enjoy summer holidays!
